freezer paper stencils
this morning the kids and i did some freezer paper stencils. it was tricky explaining to them that less is more, in this case, as far as the designs go. but they got it eventually.
((for inspiration, check out more freezer paper stencils here , and most especially this one, which is fabulous.)) and if you're inspired to try it, angry chicken has a tutorial here. i learned from amanda last year at a class at edith and edna.
i sure do love these bubble letters.
i wish she'd made one in my size.
this is the one i did, in process:
and finished:(it's pretty hard to take a picture of your own chest. i never realized.)
there was a big mess to clean up. but it was worth it.
awesome jen
that shirt is so cute
have a great weekend!

Oh oh oh! I'm going to have to run right out for some fabric paint! Love the idea, and love all your designs. What a talented family you are :-)

Aren't they fun?!! Those turned out really cute. I am really addicted to making them. I love the surprise of peeling the paper off.

I just need to try it out someday. It's really hard to take a good foot photo too. Love your creations, you talented family, you.

Those came out really well! I still have not bought the right paint for doing freezer paper stencils -- one of these days...

I love seeing your lines and your style on the shirt.

I'm going to try that. I really want to try gocco...but I am a bit scared. I'd like to put my houses on my onesies and tees that I did with Iron-on paper.

those look awesome! the bubble letters have a retro 70's look, nice! i am going to do this next year with my bluebirds... we might try making shirts this summer for our day camp week in august. thanks for all the pictures, it was fun to look at the process.

Love your shirt (the kids' too)! How did you make the light colors come out so well on black? I've never had luck with light-on-dark printing. Tried the Jaquard opaque white stuff but it had the consistency of peanut butter.
