sea urchin mobile
you might remember that chase and i found lots of sea urchins on our vacation, and were trying to figure out what to do with them. we've been inspired by blair's post on mobile making (okay, i was inspired by it and said 'hey guys, doesn't this look cool to try?') so we decided to make an urchin mobile.
first step:
have some hummus and crackers (and a beer for mom) while working:
when done,
- photograph it a lot because it's (for lack of a better description) really, really pretty.
- feel pleased, and
- spend lots of time blowing at it and watching it twirl and swirl around.
- try not to worry about how fragile it is and how the heck you'll get it back to portland.
- when back in portland, feel glad you saved a few spare urchins in case of catastrophe.
- do a quick repair
- sit back and admire again, and finally
- remember vacation fondly.

You're right -- it's really, really pretty! Great idea.

For a minute, I thought they looked jewel studded! Maybe they could be the inspiration for your future designs? :-)

So pretty! And I think you will appreciate it even more in the depths of winter. I have been meaning to make a driftwood/nature mobile for a couple years now. Maybe yours and Meg's will be the inspiration I need!
