lucky numbers

2223422295_0449df2f40_o these are my last pieces for the enormous tiny art show. i really like the way they came out - i almost had to force myself to use the bright colors because i was wanting only whites and neutrals, but i am glad i chose the reds. i think they're pretty cheerful + there's lots to look at in each one.  you can view all of my stuff for the show here if you like, and everyone else's here - they are uploading it as they get it i think.

more tomorrow - enjoy your day.

ps// i have gotten several emails tonight about how to purchase pieces - i would recommend emailing nahcotta directly. thanks for asking!

light

Img_3625 a little bit of light makes such a difference in the outcome of my day right now. how about you?

i think a CSP is about the smartest thing i ever heard of. (via shari.) having one might make a difference in the outcome of my day, too. too bad i don't live in north carolina.

i really love these birds. i forget where i first saw them, but i think they are perfect.

happy saturday to you.

fertilize

Fertilize_etsyfertilize, 2008

i hope you are having a nice day. i've had a busy + frustrating few days and can't do much of an update today, but hopefully i'll be back with more soon.

i really like this valentine by john w.golden, and it matches today's artwork.

pictures + patterns

i was delighted (not a word i use a lot!) to discover this old photobooth polaroid while cleaning this morning. i have no memory of doing this with the kids, which is a little bit disconcerting, but oh well. (i think i've told you before that i see a happily clueless, forgetful old lady in my future.) i think this picture must have been about 2 1/2 years ago, because i spy some glasses no longer needed and a set of baby teeth that are long gone.  it feels bittersweet to look at it. we all look so happy + i love that. they've both changed so much.

i've been having a lot of fun with pattern making + gocco printing this weekend, ever since i got stocked back up with lightbulbs and screens for the gocco.  i love the feeling of having all of the supplies for when the mood strikes!

here is a pattern i made - i'm liking this color combination a lot right now.

2206429718_776f3e7a70+ here is a gocco print i made of some flower drawings. i like the subtle color here too. fun fun.

my friend liz's super photography is now part of a wonderful project called the ones we love :: have a look. i really love the concept of this website + enjoyed poking around there this morning.

sharing some fiber love with lulubeans' aprill newman

this morning i am pleased to share my modish guest blog post with lulubeans' aprill newman. she's a super-talented local handspun yarn maker + knitter whose crazy talents i have a lot of respect and admiration for, plus she's just an all-around excellent human being.

guest blogging with maria from port2port press

Studioinwork photo by maria vettese

i used to be sort of a big picture gal, and now i really, really like to stop and notice the little things. did you know that there are many, many, tiny + mundane things to notice every single day?  chances are if you're reading this, you probably did.

i credit a lot of this newfound noticing i'm doing in large part to maria from port2port + 3191, who can make  - just as one example - a farmers market bounty seem like the loveliest thing ever.
come and read about her at modish guest blog tonight.
over and out - see you tomorrow.

out in portland with amanda soule

sometimes i like to remember that i am more than someone's mother  or an introverted work-at-home artist, and i get in the mood to take off my glue + ink covered clothes, get a bit gussied up and go out in this cool town i live in for a little grown up time. i figured i wasn't alone in enjoying the occasional adult activity, so today i asked my friend and fellow portland blogger amanda soule where she likes to go when she leaves the house without her three small loves.  you can read all about it over at the modish guest blog.

{{later today, i will have even more portland love for you over there. stay tuned!}}
