old sap
it's been a busy week. does may feel crazy busy to everyone else, too? i'm heading into a full weekend, as well - i'll be taking a weekend-long painting class i've been waiting a long time for, and i'm really excited about it. (more on that next week, especially if i like as much as i think i will.)
the kids are super jazzed about mothers day all of the sudden, which is just about killing me. it might be my "woman-time" right now (did you watch 30 rock last night? so funny) but i suddenly find myself getting all teary at the mothers day commercials that are meant to make you all teary. i used to give myself more credit, but not anymore. i'm turning in to sappypants-mccheesymom. i loved this post over at angry chicken about mothers day, too. an early happy mothers day to all of you mothers out there - you have a hard-ass job and you deserve a little something special that will make you feel happy and loved.
this is new today. i woke up with it in my head, and felt happy that i had the chance to sit and make it come to life. i love it when that happens!
have a wonderful weekend.
happy mother's day!
from one burgeoning sappypants-mccheesymom to another.

Thanks so much for sharing this gorgeous piece - the shapes remind me of succulents; like a loose version of jade plants. We're expecting a child in the next few weeks and I keep coming back here to see what you've come up with. Once we meet him or her, we are wholly looking forward to decorating with your lovely, organic designs.
I will admit, at 8-months along I am in the same boat as you with the tears - commercials, greeting cards and even a cartoon has gotten me misty! Happy Mother's Day to all Mummies and pass the kleenex.

Have a good mama's day! We DO have a hard job, if I do say so myself. (But it's also the best one. How's that for McCheesy?)

Hey there, old sappypants. You're one of my favorite moms. Have a great weekend...I can't wait to hear all about your class. I love the sedum-y shapes in this collage. xoxo One of your fellow mccheesymoms

i've been riding the waves of a powerful hormone cocktail myself which apparently involves clumsy metaphor mixing and lots of weepy sappiness.
i love mother's day so much this year!
i'm so glad to have great moms like you in my life!
xoxo

Crazy busy, is the word of the moment... I love your new piece, feels kid of underwater-y... and you know, I wonder if it's the time of year or the time of the world, but Target ads make me weepy, or watching a young child jump around in circles in the park yesterday, and hearing on NPR the story of a 7 year old boy that wants to be a girl and told his (her) parents, and listening to her father talk about how he felt and what he wanted for his now, daughter... sigh, and I'm not even a mum.

Love the black thingy doo daas.
Have you ever thought of designing scrapbook paper and other scrapbooking products? It's a huge business and many of your art pieces would translate well into that field.
